The Laggards

An Excerpt from: ‘MAN, HIS ORIGIN HISTORY AND DESTINY’ AS TOLD BY THE GREAT WHITE BROTHERHOOD COMPILED BY WERNER SCHROEDER

It was during the incoming of the fourth root race, that a Cosmic Council convened whose decision changed drastically the course for all evolutions of Earth's mankind, guardian spirits, angels and elementals.

This council, attended by the Spiritual Hierarchy of the Earth, was called to decide what to do with billions of lifestreams who lived in another galaxy. These lifestreams were of insufficient spiritual development to earn continued habitation upon their own planet for evolution. As part of the divine plan, their planet was to undergo one step of the Inbreath, bringing it one step closer to the sun.

According to Cosmic Law, closer proximity to the sun requires an acceleration of the vibration of a planet and its inhabitants. The individuals refused to go along with the divine plan. They were complacent in their thoughts and feelings, and lagged behind in their natural process of evolution. Hence they were not qualified to move forward with their planet. Those individuals were referred to by the Masters as “laggards.”

One plan was to have them pass through what we call “second death,” which forces the lifestream to start all over again, back to the event, called “Journey to the Seven Spheres.” It was then that the Hierarchy of Earth, as an act of mercy, offered the Earth as a planetary home to help the laggards complete their evolution. Conditions on this planet were still perfect and harmonious, yet compared to other planets, its vibratory rate was slightly slower. It was hoped that the laggards would be guided by the purity and perfection of the thoughts and feelings of the people of Earth, and by holding to this example, they would gradually transmute their karma. The high priests and guardian spirits were informed of the coming of the laggards; the remainder of mankind was unaware of the event. For one hundred years the high priests attempted, by decreeing, to establish a shield around the Earth's lifestreams to prevent their contamination by the laggards.

What did the laggards look like after they came to Earth? Tied now to the same laws which applied to the remainder of mankind on Earth, they were provided with similar bodies, and therefore were not distinguishable from the rest.

The chief faults of the laggards were arrogance, rebellion, resistance to progress, stubbornness and resentment toward change. Naturally, they brought these qualities with them. The impure thoughtforms of the laggards spread into Earth's atmosphere like smog. It was the beginning of the “mist” the Bible talks about (“and a mist arose and covered the whole ground,” Gen. 2:6).

In time the people of Earth succumbed to the subtle temptation of curiosity. They tuned in to the impure thoughtforms of the laggards, and started to play with them. This experimentation with the misuse of free will caused what is known as the “Fall of Man.” Mankind started to listen to the “wrong crowd.” Independent of God-direction, mankind deliberately chose to experiment with impurity. This way man's attention no longer rested exclusively on his inner Presence, the director of his life-activity. Man became sense‑conscious, instead of God-conscious, and so, according to Cosmic Law, manifested that upon which his attention was directed and which he thought about most. He deliberately and consciously turned his back upon the perfection and dominion with which the Father endowed him from the beginning.

When the mist first appeared, it was like a local wisp of smoke. Later, as the ages passed, it became an increasing fog, that gradually shut away the visible presence of the Ascended Host.

Thus, the glory of perfection of the first two Golden Ages came to an end. Later on, when the Atlantean culture flourished, there were other Golden Ages, during which the veil between the Ascended Host and mankind was partially rent; however, the perfection of the first two Golden Ages was unique and was never quite matched. The Masters assured the students that it is possible for us to rent the veil again, and that man once more may be able to walk and talk with the Ascended Host and the angels.

The laggards did not come to Earth all at once. Since the Earth was created for 3 1/2 billion lifestreams and since today there are 10 billion lifestreams using the Earth as a schoolroom (including those not presently in embodiment) we may assume that the number of laggards from other systems is 6 1/2 billion.

THE LORD OF THE WORLD

The Lord of the World supervises the Great White Brotherhood. He works under the supervision of Helios and Vesta, serving, primarily with the Karmic Board and the World Teacher. The first Lord of the World was Sanat Kumara.

Millions of years ago, a cosmic council was held. It was chaired by Alpha and Omega, the intelligences governing our galaxy, who administer the Cosmic Law as it applies to the Earth At the council, it was decided to dissolve the Earth, by swinging it off its axis. It was then that Sanat Kumara offered to save this planet by taking residence on the Earth, thus adding his own large stockpile of constructively-qualified energy to that of the Earth. Thus, disaster was avoided. All inhabitants of the Earth owe their very lives to Sanat Kumara (see “MAN, HIS ORIGIN, HISTORY AND DESTINY”).

In 1956, Sanat Kumara was able to return to his home planet, Venus. This action was accomplished, primarily, by approximately 150 students of the Bridge to Freedom, who, through the Transmission Flame Service, raised the required Light-Quota of the Earth to the amount required by the Cosmic Law, making this event possible.

 After Sanat Kumara returned to Venus, his office was assumed by Lord Gautama. Sanat Kumara remains as Regent for this planet. Lord Gautama’s particular quality is balance, and he will give assistance in balancing the four lower bodies of the students.

THE STRAIGHTENING OF THE AXIS OF THE EARTH

The two Natural or Permanent Rays are projected from the Godhead or Central Sun. They are the Cosmic Fire and penetrate through the atmosphere and the etheric belt or realm within it, also through the three elements, - earth, water and air - of which the Earth is composed. The masculine Ray enters the Earth south of the Gobi Desert through the Himalayas; the feminine Ray enters Mount Meru just east of Lake Titicaca in the Andes Mountains in South America. In the center of the Earth they interlock and there is formed the Three - fold Flame around which the earth was formed.
These Rays have a certain natural potency. But the created Rays which are projected by Divine Beings are more potent because they are consciously manipulated. Master Saint Germain.

When beloved Sanat Kumara first came to this Earth, the axis had already bent to about 45 degrees and any fur­ther bending would have been totally disastrous to the planet and the evolutions. Archangel Michael, September 29, 1957.

(It was said that during cataclysmic action the axis would change about 45 degrees and the North Pole would be parallel with the equator. The outer world has it that the axis is off 23 1/2 degrees. Ed.)

The Two Permanent Rays are a balancing power to the Earth, and the more intensely the attention of mankind is focused upon them, the greater the possibility of avoiding, or at least, minimizing cataclysmic activity at this time. The Andes Mountains have been shaking for the past two months. The reason for this is that certain balanced powers from the Sun are being fed through this Ray into the very center of the Earth for this coming period. Maha Chohan, July 1952.

The Great and Mighty Vesta, God-Mother of our Solar System (our Sun) has explained it thus: Helios and I belong larger to a Galaxy much larger than the one in which We presently serve. We were a PLANET in that Galaxy, and We were number four, just as the Earth is number four in relation to the Sun today.

Our Galaxy was headed by a Great Central Sun made up of two mighty Beings Whose Names have long, long gone out of the language of your Earth, but They come close to the sound of ELOHAE and ELORA, which infers the masculine and feminine aspects of the Elohim.

This Great Sun God and Goddess sent forth twelve mighty Suns in a descending arc of Creation and these twelve Suns, as They descended, in turn sent forth from Themselves in a horizontal manner, twelve great Planets. Our System consisted of the Great Central Sun and Its twelve Suns, each Sun having twelve Planets around It, making one hundred and fifty-six Planets, including the twelve Suns. The System to which the Earth belongs (your System) came from the Central Sun of Alpha and Omega and has forty-nine Planets with seven Suns - one hundred less than the System of Elohae and Eloha.

Let Me repeat: You have the Central Sun from which Helios and I came, and beneath It twelve Suns. The Fourth Sun down was the Sun to which We belonged and was Alpha and Omega. That Sun in turn, sent out twelve Planets in a horizontal manner and Helios and Myself were the Fourth Planet out from the Sun. This was on the out-breath, the Suns descending and the Planets expanding - the out-breath of the Godhead so far as the Creation of this Galaxy was concerned.

On the inbreath, which is the point you are coming to now in your own Galaxy, the Suns began ascending, number twelve entering into the orbit of eleven, number eleven going into the orbit of number ten and so on, all the Planets of that System also ascending one.

We represented the fourth Planet in the Fourth Solar System and Alpha and Omega were Our SUN at that time! Alpha and Omega were the fourth Sun in that System just as Helios and I are the fourth Sun in Our present System. At that time all the Suns in our present System were ALL PLANETS!

Alpha and Omega were Our Sun; the first Planet out from Them was Osiris and Isis; the second one Apollo and Diana; the third Planet out was Krishna and Sophia; the fourth Planet was OURSELVES! The first movement on the inbreath drew Osiris into the Heart of Alpha and Omega, and each Planet moved in closer to the Sun one place, We moving into the third place in that System. In the next motion, We moved into the second place, then the first place, and finally We were assimilated into the Presence of Alpha and Omega Who in turn went back into the Great Presence of Their Central Sun, Elohae and Eloha!
